Hey everyone! My name is Rachel Fleischer and I am a licensed Professional Counselor in Tennessee. I am so happy to start this journey with you! I will be writing blog posts about a variety of topics that I find are important in the counseling world. Examples of upcoming topics may include: The importance of the therapeutic relationship, the benefits of journaling, How to explain your anxiety to your loved ones, Mindfulness, and many more! I am excited to use this space to share about my passion for counseling with you.
Here’s a little bit about me:
In 2012, I obtained my Master’s degree in Mental Health Counseling from Nova Southeastern University and my Bachelor’s degree in Elementary Education at Indiana University. I am licensed in the state of Tennessee as a Licensed Professional Counselor-Mental Health Service Provider and in the state of Florida as a Licensed Mental Health Counselor. I have worked with adolescents, adults, couples, and families and I currently specialize in working with adults. When I am not at work, you will find me spending time with my family, chasing after two young children and my dog Reggie, traveling, being active, and always eager to learn new things.
My therapeutic approach is eclectic. I use a variety of techniques with my clients depending on their specific needs. I use a combination of Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, Mindfulness, Person-Centered, and much more. I strive to help my clients feel empowered to gain insight and make positive changes to grow and create a meaningful life.
Therapy is such a beautiful thing. It is a place to open up in a safe space, to explore yourself and gain a better understanding of how you want to live your life. Therapy can help enhance one’s self esteem, relationships, and emotional wellbeing. I challenge you to give yourself a chance, to connect with yourself, and to establish your path forward. I wish you the best on your journey!
